Breaking the Happiness Myth: The Power of Focusing on One Action at a Time for True Growth

I thought tips & tricks, life hacks and expert advice were supposed to make us happier ๐Ÿ™ˆ!

Until I realised they're often the source of the FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) that so many people suffer from ๐Ÿ˜จ.

The problem is the ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ณ๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—บ๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—ผ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—น๐—ผ๐—ฎ๐—ฑ - according to the myriad of LinkedIn posts, blogs, articles, apps and books we're exposed to, every day we should:

๐Ÿญ - Journal

๐Ÿฎ - Set your intention for the day

๐Ÿฏ - Meditate

๐Ÿฐ - Workout at least 30 mins every day

๐Ÿฑ - Ask yourself powerful questions

๐Ÿฒ - Track your progress

๐Ÿณ - Catch and replace your disempowering beliefs

๐Ÿด - Read a bit every day

๐Ÿต - Follow your morning and evening routine

๐Ÿญ๐Ÿฌ - Visualise your goals

๐Ÿญ๐Ÿญ - Ask and give feedback

๐Ÿญ๐Ÿฎ - Look at yourself in the mirror every evening and check if you're proud of yourself

๐Ÿญ๐Ÿฏ - ...plenty more๐Ÿ˜ฑ ๐Ÿ˜ฑ ๐Ÿ˜ฑ ๐Ÿ˜ฑ ๐Ÿ˜ฑ ๐Ÿ˜ฑ ๐Ÿ˜ฑ ๐Ÿ˜ฑ ๐Ÿ˜ฑ ๐Ÿ˜ฑ ๐Ÿ˜ฑ ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

If you, too, feel intimidated when reading these things. You're not alone and no, it's not you. And no, nobody does all of that AND have a full-time job! It's simply not doable.If you really want to grow and expand your life and opportunities, do this instead:

๐Ÿ‘‰ start with ๐—ข๐—ก๐—˜ ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐—ข๐—ก๐—˜ ๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐˜๐—ถ๐˜ƒ๐—ถ๐˜๐˜† ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—น๐˜† ๐—ฒ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜† ๐—ฑ๐—ฎ๐˜†. Forget about all the others.Focus on that one until it becomes a habit (๐™จ๐™ฅ๐™ค๐™ž๐™ก๐™š๐™ง: it doesn't take 21-30 days to form a new habit, that's a myth that's been around for way too long - it will take +/- 3 months, make peace with it ๐Ÿ˜€).

Once it's become a habit, you can add another one (and one only) and so on.We need to learn to ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐—ฝ๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐˜ ๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ฟ ๐—ฏ๐—ผ๐—ฑ๐—ถ๐—ฒ๐˜€ ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐—ฏ๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—ถ๐—ป๐˜€ and feed them with what they need rather than what we want.

So this week I started writing every day on LinkedIn, and will just focus on that one.Which one will you tackle first and why?
